One Dead in Southeast Houston Motorcycle Accident
A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after being involved in a crash with a car in southeast Houston.
About the Fatal Houston Motorcycle Crash
According to Click2Houston, the crash occurred around 7 am near the intersection of South Loop East near Interstate Highway 610 East. Officers arrived to find a 32-year-old man dead.
Investigators believe the woman was driving eastbound in the 7800 block of South Loop East when the motorcyclist crashed into the back of the Nissan Altima. Police suspect the motorcyclist failed to control his speed.
The driver of the Altima was determined not to be impaired and was released from the scene.

- Motorcyclists (passengers and operators) accounted for 459 of the fatalities recorded in 2015.
- Of the 459 motorcyclists killed, roughly 52 percent were not wearing a helmet at the time of their collision.
- An additional 246,335 people were injured in traffic accidents in Texas in 2015.
