Tragedy on South Highway 183: One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Overnight Crash
A two-vehicle accident on South Highway 183 near the Pilot Knob neighborhood claimed one life and left another person critically injured early Monday morning.
Incident Details
According to kxan news, the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) responded to the scene around 2:40 AM. The collision occurred near the intersection with Planeview Drive, forcing the closure of the highway in both directions for several hours. It reopened by 8:00 AM.
One individual was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The other person, pinned inside their vehicle, was extricated by firefighters and assessed by medics as a trauma alert, indicating severe and potentially life-threatening injuries. They were rushed to a local hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by authorities as they continue to investigate the crash.
