Woman Dies After Vehicle Strikes E-Bike in South Austin

A 31-year-old woman was killed in South Austin Wednesday morning after she was struck by a vehicle while riding a Lime e-bike.

Details of the Fatal Austin E-Bike Accident

CBS Austin reports the woman, identified as Celeste Garcia, 31, was fatally injured around 9:30 A.M. Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle towing a trailer as she rode an e-bike.

The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the 1700 block of South Lamar Boulevard.

Garcia was rushed to the hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead at 10:38 am.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was determined not to be intoxicated. They are cooperating with investigators.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
