A 16-year-old girl is dead, and five teenagers were seriously injured as a result of a crash on Saturday afternoon.
According to NBC-DFW, the fatal crash occurred around 2:30 pm when the driver of a 2007 Honda Accord lost control on a curve in the 100 block of Shoreside Trail. The Honda left the roadway and struck a culvert before coming to a stop.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Five other passengers were seriously injured and transported to hospitals in Dallas and Waxahachie areas.
Among those injured were: a 16-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old boy. Waxahachie ISD noted “multiple” of those involved in the crash were students.
