2 Children Killed, 8 People Drag Racing Crash Near San Antonio
Two children were killed and eight other people were injured following a crash at a drag-racing event in Kerrville.
Details of the Fatal Drag Racing Crash
CNN reports the crash occurred around 3:20 pm Saturday at the Kerrville-Kerr County Airport, about 70 miles from San Antonio.
One of the vehicles participating in a series of races lost control and crashed into spectators. Two boys, ages 6- and 8-years-old, were killed in the crash.
Eight others, including a 3-month-old girl, were injured in the crash.
The event, Airport Race Wars 2, included several races in multiple categories with $10,000 In prize money set to be awarded. The event was organized by Flyin Diesel Performance, an automotive business in Kerrville.
Four injured adults were taken to the hospital by air ambulance. Two adults were listed in critical condition at University Medical Center in San Antonio.
A 4-month-old boy and a 3-year-old girl were transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.
The accident remains under investigation.
