Three East Texas students were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night. One sustained critical injuries.
According to KETK, the crash occurred around 9:43 pm in the 2100 block of North Edwards Avenue, near Mount Pleasant High School.
Preliminary reports show the vehicle was traveling westbound on North Edwards Avenue when it struck an SUV that had exited the high school parking lot. The impact from the collision caused the SUV to overturn.
The driver of the car, Shamour Hines, 17, and the driver of the SUV, Ashley Blalock, 18, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Hines’s passenger, 16-year-old Suzanna Grigsby, was taken to a Tyler hospital in critical condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
