Driver Faces Several Charges after Rear-ending 18-Wheeler
According to New Jersey 101.5, a man faces drunk driving charges after crashing into an 18-wheeler truck on Route 1 in West Windsor, New Jersey, on Saturday morning.
Details of the Drunk Driving Collision
Police say John Gulapa crashed into the semi-truck in his 1995 Mitsubishi near Harrison Street at around 5:30 a.m. Gulapa struck the rear of the trailer with so much force that it demolished the entire front of his car.
Much of his car ended up underneath the 18-wheeler as emergency crews had to mechanically extricate him, according to New Jersey 101.5. Gulapa suffered from serious injuries, including a fractured skull, broken nose, and air in his skull. He received treatment at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.
Gulapa faces charges of DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and multiple traffic violations, reports New Jersey 101.5.
A passenger in Gulapa’s vehicle and the driver of the 18-wheeler did not sustain injuries in the wreck.
