According to ABC New Channel 9, the fatal crash occurred Friday when a tractor-trailer rear-ended a minivan on Interstate 30, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas. Police say the minivan was stopped on the interstate as an earlier wreck was being cleared.
41-year-old Jessica Brokish of Savoy, Illinois and her three children were killed in the crash. The children were ages 9, 6, and 2. The woman’s husband was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 64-year-old Wanda Gebhardt of Pikeville, Tennessee, was also killed in the collision.
At least three other vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash.
