Major San Antonio School Bus Accident Shuts Down U.S. Highway 90
News4SA reports that first responders were called to a major accident involving a school bus on a South Side San Antonio highway early Wednesday morning. The collision has left two people hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
Details of the San Antonio School Bus Crash
The San Antonio Police Department stated that the accident happened around 8 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90 West near Interstate 35 and Nogalitos Street. The highway was closed as crews responded.
San Antonio officials state there were no children on board at the time of the accident. The bus was making its way to their West Center to pick up students for a field trip.
Authorities have begun letting the built up traffic slowly make its way around the scene of the accident. The highway will be shut down once traffic is cleared. Drivers are instructed to avoid the area if possible.

- More school-age pedestrians were killed from 6 a.m. to 6:59 a.m. than any other hours of the day.
