Teenage Boy Struck and Killed in Pedestrian-Car Accident
According to WKTV, a 15-year-old boy sustained fatal injuries after he was hit by a car in Otsego County, New York, on Monday afternoon.
Details of the Fatal Car-Pedestrian Collision
Edward McKinley III was walking with a friend on the shoulder of Main Street in Unadilla when the accident occurred. At around 5:06 p.m. local time, McKinley was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction as he.
WKTV reports that McKinley suffered from severe head injuries and body injuries. He was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment, but unfortunately McKinley succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Police report that the driver, 47-year-old Michelle Swift, was not intoxicated or impaired at the time of the fatal pedestrian accident. The investigation is ongoing, including reconstruction of the crash scene. According to WKTV, officials reported that the roadway where the accident occurred was dark at the time of the crash.
