NEWS 4 SA announced on Saturday, October 31st that Rutledge was transported to an intensive care unit at a nearby hospital.
Rutledge suffered multiple severe injuries after crashing his bike in Texas Hill Country. Official reports claim that Rutledge injured his lung, shoulder, ten ribs, sternum, and a vertebrae during the accident.
69-year-old Coach Rutledge is well renowned for leading Judson to victory in four state championships. He is also known for coaching the Rockets for 17 seasons, earning 198-31-5 record with the team, and being the previous president of the Texas High School Coaches Association.
