According to KWTX, a car containing two men headed to work struck an ambulance on a rural South Texas highway early Tuesday, causing both vehicles turned over.
Both men died at the scene before dawn on Highway 25 near Rockport, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Sgt. Nathan Bandley says that the driver of the car failed to yield at stop sign, and hit the ambulance, which had just dropped off a patient at a Corpus Christi hospital.
Two emergency medical personnel on board the ambulance also sustained serious injuries, although they are not believed to be life-threatening.
