Chain-Reaction Crash Near Temple Kills Two Over Thanksgiving

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)  has released details on a tragic chain-reaction crash that killed two boys just outside Temple on Wednesday, November 23.

Details of the Deadly Thanksgiving Car Crash

According to MySA, the fatal collision occurred on Interstate 35 during “heavy holiday rush traffic” at around 6:30 pm.

Authorities say the crash was triggered when a 2017 Nissan Titan pickup, driven by a 23-year-old man, lost control and struck a 2018 Mitsubishi carrying two adults and two children. The two children, ages 8 and 13 years old, were killed in the crash.

A 2016 Ford F-150 and a 2015 Ford Versa were also involved in the crash. Occupants from those vehicles, including a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old, were hospitalized. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
