The Dangers of Drunk Driving

Alcohol greatly impairs a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. From slowed reaction time to poor decision-making, drunk drivers pose a risk to themselves as well as everybody else on the road.

While we all understand the dangers of drunk driving, it remains a more common problem than many realize. In fact, the average drunk driver will drive under the influence 80 times before their first arrest.

Of those who have their licenses revoked after a drunk driving arrest, 50-75% will continue to drive under the influence without their license.

Despite efforts to reduce drunk driving, a person is killed in a drunk driving crash in the United States every 51 minutes. That is 27 deaths every day.

A person is injured in a drunk driving crash every two minutes.
