Man Killed in Wrong-Way Crash in West Bexar County
A man is facing five charges including one charge of intoxication manslaughter following a head-on collision that left one person dead in West Bexar County.
Details of the Bexar County Crash
According to KSAT, the collision occurred around 1:00 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of Highway 90 West near State Highway 211, just outside Loop 1604.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says a 39-year-old man was driving a pickup westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 90 when he collided head-on with a sedan. The driver of the sedan, a man in his 20s, was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the driver of the truck had two children in the vehicle with him. The man suffered serious injuries, and the children sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the truck is charged with intoxication manslaughter, two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old, and two counts of reckless injury to a child causing bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation. The names of those involved in the crash have not been released.
