Trucking Accident in Houston Closes I-610 East Loop

Several lanes of the I-610 East Loop were closed Monday morning as a result of a truck crash that resulted in a hazmat spill.

Details of the Houston Truck Crash

According to ABC-13, the crash occurred around 6:00 am Monday on the East Loop approaching Integrate 10.

A preliminary investigation suggests an 18-wheeler truck crashed into the middle wall of the I-610 East Loop and came to rest blocking southbound lanes. Hazmat responded to the scene to clean a fluid spill.

The entire freeway was shut down for several hours as a result of the crash. Southbound lanes were reopened shortly before 10 am.

The crash remains under investigation.
