Woman Hospitalized After Wrong-Way Crash Near St. Mary’s St.
A woman was hospitalized Monday morning after a wrong-way collision involving a suspected drunk driver near St. Mary’s Street.
Details of the Wrong Way Collision
According to MySA, the crash happened around 3:30 am Monday on Highway 281.
Police say the woman was traveling southbound on Highway 281 when she was struck head-on by a man in his 20s traveling the wrong direction.
The woman was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, but her condition was not immediately known.
The male driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
The crash remains under investigation.

- Try to steer into a clear area. Look for a clear shoulder or level terrain.
- If necessary, driver off the road. It is better to crash into a ditch than collide with another vehicle head-on.
- Call the police and report the driver. Even if you can make it through unscathed, your call to the police could save lives further down the road.
