Pep Boys is recalling more than 500 of their Definity Dakota H/T Tires because contaminated rubber in the tire's tread could cause tread separation. According to the recall notice, tread separation can lead to loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

Important Information for Tire Owners

  • This recall involves 537 Definity Dakota H/T Tires, size P265/70R17.
  • Pep Boys will notify tire owners and replace the affected tires free of charge.
  • The recall is scheduled to begin on July 9, 2012.
