T. Flynn Altmeyer

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law’s Corpus Christi Office

Mr. T. Flynn Altmeyer is a Briefing Attorney here at Thomas J. Henry Law. Mr. Altmeyer graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in 2010, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Following graduation, he worked for two years as a Field Representative on behalf of a United States Congressman for the First District in the State of West Virginia. He subsequently decided to attend law school at the West Virginia University College of Law in 2012, where he graduated in 2015. Mr. Altmeyer has been a practicing attorney since October of 2015, including three years as an Associate for the law firm of Cipriani & Werner, PC, in the cities of Charleston and Wheeling, West Virginia. At Cipriani & Werner, he participated as an associate attorney on over one hundred cases. His responsibilities included legal research, legal writing, trial preparation, leading client meetings, taking depositions, participating in mediations and arguing motions in Court. Mr. Altmeyer was able to secure case dismissals prior to trial on multiple occasions.

Mr. Altmeyer then accepted a position as Clerk for a Circuit Judge in the First Judicial Circuit in West Virginia, where his duties included writing judicial opinions after research and consultation with the Judge in civil cases, criminal cases, abuse and neglect matters and divorce appeals. Most importantly, Mr. Altmeyer was able to gain experience from the perspective of a Judge. This unique type of experience gives him a significant advantage when evaluating cases and planning strategy by understanding Judges’ tendencies and desires throughout litigation. He is licensed to practice law in the States of Texas, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He is also licensed to practice law in the Northern and Southern District Federal Courts in West Virginia. Mr. Altmeyer’s extended family has owned and operated funeral homes in West Virginia for over one hundred years enabling him to work there throughout his college years. In that capacity, he helped individuals and families through a most emotionally challenging experience in their lives. Accordingly, Mr. Altmeyer understands tragedy and loss better than most; and thus, he will serve not only as a client’s attorney and advocate, but also as a supportive confidant as they navigate difficult times.

Mr. Altmeyer is an avid sports fan, having played basketball, football, baseball, golf and tennis while growing up in Wheeling, West Virginia. As an adult, he spends any free time he has running, weight training and playing basketball or golf. Having spent his life as an aggressive athletic competitor, it has been a natural transition for him to take that mentality into the practice of law. After three years of civil insurance defense work and almost four as a judicial clerk, Mr. Altmeyer came to the realization that his heart lies with representing injured clients. He is highly motivated to effectively advocate for clients against businesses and insurance companies who have wronged them. Mr. Altmeyer is a very intense, logical and hard-working individual who, due to his experience as an insurance defense litigator and a Judge’s clerk, is well equipped to fight efficiently, effectively and most importantly, relentlessly, on behalf of his clients.
