William Adams

Mr. William Adams has practiced law as a trial attorney since 1999, with the exception of a brief stint working for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, as a Supervising Writ Clerk, where he was not litigating cases, but where he learned a lot about various areas of law and the judicial system as a whole. 

Mr. Adams joined Thomas J. Henry as a managing attorney in 2023, after running his own law firm for 12 years. During that time, he enjoyed a diverse litigation practice. Mr. Adams created opportunities to handle a diverse array of cases, with practice areas in personal injury, family and criminal law. In this context, he tried numerous family-law bench trials, a handful of personal injury cases, and defended numerous criminal cases, including capital cases. For the 12 years prior to that, he plied his trade as a litigation trial attorney, mostly in the defense of personal injury cases, including all forms of vehicular, workplace and industrial accidents, as well as medical and professional malpractice. Throughout this time, he brought dozens of cases to trial, including over a dozen more complex medical malpractice, wrongful death and/or business litigation matters (the latter for both plaintiffs and defense) that were tried before a jury, as well as several vehicular accident jury trials.

Mr. Adams previously served, for a number of years, on an advisory board for a Legal Office Assisting program at a local community college. He has also presented several CLE seminars on various litigation topics. Additionally, he was honored to be selected by attorney colleagues to serve as a mediator for cases in the civil and family-law areas of practice.

Through his years of practicing law, the greatest lesson that Mr. Adams has learned is to handle clients with compassion.

When he’s not in the office, Mr. Adams can be found attending church with his family, exploring SA with his wife, talking soccer with his son, cooking, roasting coffee, reading, or exercising.
