A 19-year-old man from Lewisville has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter for his role in a May 1st crash.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Jordan Landaverde is believed to have been intoxicated when his truck fatally struck a woman on I-35 in Carrollton.
Police say Lindsay Weems, 24, was struck and killed while standing outside her vehicle following a previous wreck on northbound I-35 at the Sandy Lake Road exit. Two other people who had stopped to help Weems were uninjured.
Landaverde fled the scene of the crash on foot along with a 19-year-old woman who was in his truck; however, police were quick to locate the two and placed both under arrest. Landaverde was charged with intoxication manslaughter, and his passenger was charged with public intoxication.
