19-Year-Old Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in Carrollton Crash
A 19-year-old man from Lewisville has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter for his role in a May 1st crash.
Intoxicated Driver Initially Fled Scene of the Fatal Crash
According to the Dallas Morning News, Jordan Landaverde is believed to have been intoxicated when his truck fatally struck a woman on I-35 in Carrollton.
Police say Lindsay Weems, 24, was struck and killed while standing outside her vehicle following a previous wreck on northbound I-35 at the Sandy Lake Road exit. Two other people who had stopped to help Weems were uninjured.
Landaverde fled the scene of the crash on foot along with a 19-year-old woman who was in his truck; however, police were quick to locate the two and placed both under arrest. Landaverde was charged with intoxication manslaughter, and his passenger was charged with public intoxication.
