Car Crash

12 News Now reports that one driver was killed and one driver was seriously injured Friday morning in a three-vehicle wreck in Hardin County, Texas.

About the Fatal Car Crash

According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis, Stacy James Howard, 46, of Dayton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct Four Justice of the Peace Kent Walker.

The accident happened at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Highway 105 about five miles west of Sour Lake. The Isuzu SUV that Howard was driving stopped in the westbound lanes as he waited to make a left turn. As Howard waited at the intersection, his vehicle was struck from behind by a Chevrolet passenger car. The impact pushed the Isuzu the eastbound lane where the vehicle was struck by an oncoming Chevrolet SUV.

The driver of the passenger car said that she received minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet SUV was airlifted to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with grave injuries. Four children who were present in the SUV were taken by the ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
