Important Information about Speeding
According to Teens in the Driver Seat, wrongful deaths happen all the time in the United States involving speeding and teen drivers:
- Nearly 33 percent of young drivers and passenger fatalities involving teenagers happen in speed-related accidents.
- An increase in speed increases the stopping distance to brake your vehicle.
- Teenagers are more likely than adult drivers to speed and have a shorter following distance – the presence of male passengers in vehicles also increases the likelihood of risky behaviors of teenage male drivers.
