Man Killed in Southeast Austin Hit-and-Run

Austin police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead near a southeast intersection early Wednesday morning.

Details of the Fatal Austin Hit-and-Run

KVUE reports the crash occurred near the intersection of Montopolis and East Riverside Drive shortly before 6:00 am.

Officials identified the victim as an adult male. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver fled in his vehicle.

One witness reported seeing a Capital Metro bus in the area at the time of the crash, but neither ADP nor CapMetro could confirm that a bus was involved in the fatal crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
