A man responsible for a 2018 crash in Dallas that killed a 16-year-old has been sentenced to 10 years of probation Wednesday.
According to reports, Terrelwin Jones, 33, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid in a crash on the Dallas North Tollway that occurred March 7, 2018 around 10:15 pm. The crash resulted in the death of Guy Delaney, 16.
Delaney and his father stalled in a work zone when their vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Jones. Jones was driving 89 mph when the crash occurred, and the impact caused the Delaneys’ vehicle to catch on fire.
As part of his sentence, Jones will spend each Thanksgiving and Christmas of his sentence at the Dallas County jail. If Jones fails to adhere to the rules of his probation, he could be sentenced to two to 20 years in prison.
