Mother and Son Killed in Multiple-vehicle Crash in Spicewood, Texas
According to CBS Austin, a woman and her son sustained fatal injuries in a crash involving another car and a semi-truck on Interstate 71 near Spicewood, Texas, on Monday morning.
Details of the Fatal Accident
Cynthia Vega and Santiago Vega, 17, drove eastbound on Interstate 71 at around 8:30 a.m. when the fatal accident occurred. A driver in a Subaru traveling west on the interstate entered into the path of Vega’s vehicle, crashing into the front of the car.
Vega’s Ford Focus spun toward a guardrail before a semi-truck traveling east collided with the passenger side, reports CBS Austin. The force of the collision flipped the Ford Focus onto its side.
Cynthia and Santiago Vega died from injuries sustained in the collision, reports CBS Austin. Two others were injured in the multiple-vehicle wreck.
