Multi-vehicle Crash Leaves One Dead, Four People Hospitalized
According to NBC DFW, one person is dead and six others injured after a severe crash on the highway near Garrett, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon.
Details of Fatal Car Accident
The deadly crash occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on Interstate 45 near FM 879. Officials say two vehicles driving southbound on the interstate collided for an unknown reason. The collision caused one of the vehicles to roll into the center median, and the other vehicle traveled into the northbound lanes of Interstate 45.
The second vehicle was hit by a car traveling north, according to NBC DFW. This crash caused the driver of the second vehicle to sustain fatal injuries. Four others involved in the multi-vehicle crash were hospitalized. The victims were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Two others received treatment at the scene.
The crash is currently under investigation, reports NBC DFW. The cause of the fatal wreck is unknown. Interstate 45 suffered from lane closures until around 5:10 p.m.
