Nestlé USA, Inc. issued a voluntary recall on two varieties of their Drumstick ice cream cones because of a positive test for listeria at a manufacturing facility.

About the Nestlé Drumstick Ice Cream Recall

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), production line equipment tested positive for listeria monocytogenes at the Bakersfield, California, production facility.

No positive results for listeria have been found in Drumstick products thus far. In addition, no illnesses have been reported in relation to the recalled products. Consumers are urged to not consume the recalled products and to return them to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious injuries in young children, elderly populations, and those with weakened immune systems. Pregnant women can also sustain miscarriages and stillbirths from a listeria infection.
