Suspected Drunk Driver Killed in Crash, 4 Others Injured

A woman who may have been driving under the influence of alcohol was killed in a car accident in San Antonio early Tuesday morning.

Details of the Fatal San Antonio Accident

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the 2004 Kia Optima Jennifer Villegas, 32, was driving was headed West on McCauley Avenue when she ran a stop sign. As a result, Villegas collided with a Ford Escape SUV headed northbound on Commercial Avenue.

The driver of the SUV, a 65-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital – she is listed in stable condition.

Villegas had 3 other passengers, Desiree Villegas, 17, Rebecca Villegas, 15, and Christine Villanueva, 16. Two of the teenagers had not been wearing their seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.

All of the injured passengers from Villegas’ vehicle were transported to the hospital and in stable condition. Villegas herself was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators claimed to have smelled alcohol inside Villegas vehicle after the crash.
