Tragic Car Accident In Grimes County – 2 Deaths, 2 Injuries

Four Texas A&M students were involved in a car accident on Sunday. This misfortune led to the deaths of two women and the injury of two of their female friends.

Details of the Fatal Accident

According to the Houston Chronicle, the accident occurred in Grimes County on FM 244, roughly two mile south of Carlos.

Authorities say the 2012 Honda Civic the four women were traveling in left the road after the driver attempted to make a sharp curve at an unsafe speed. The vehicle then collided with a tree.

Driver Alexis Emmou, 20, and passenger Corinthia Cunningham-Williams, 22, who was seated behind the driver, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Passengers Rene Contreras, 20, and Tyra Preston, 20, were transported to St. Joseph’s Regional hospital in Bryan. The Contreras was listed in critical condition while Preston is reported to be in stable condition.
