San Antonio Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run
One person was killed in a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio.
Details about the Fatal Hit and Run
KSAT 12 News is reporting that one man was killed after being involved in a hit and run pedestrian accident that happened during the overnight hours on Monday.
According to San Antonio police, the accident happened at about 12:15 a.m. on Rittiman Road, which is not far from Interstate 35 on the northeast side of San Antonio. Police have stated that they believe the man was attempting to cross the street in a place where there was not a crosswalk. The man stepped out in front of a car and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. A truck that was traveling behind the vehicle also hit the man, according to police.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The woman who was driving the truck did stop and try to render aid, but police are still looking for the driver of the first vehicle. Police do not have a description of that car. At this time, the name of the victim has not been released, but an investigation into the cause and circumstances of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
