Liberty Hill school Bus Driver Causes Fiery Wreck
Authorities in Liberty Hill responded to a fiery crash involving a Liberty Hill ISD school bus Wednesday afternoon.
About the Liberty Hill School Bus Accident
According to KXAN, the crash occurred around Thursday afternoon of Texas Highway 29 near Lively Ranch Road.
A witness at the scene told reports the school bus pulled out of a neighborhood in front of several cars, adding “there was a whole mess of cars coming down the highway.” A truck driver attempted to avoid collision by slamming on his brakes but was rear-ended by an Expedition traveling behind it.
The expedition burst into flames. Fortunately, the family inside was able to get out of the vehicle safely.
While the school bus was not hit, parents are expressing concerns about the safety of the students who ride the bus.
“To think a person who made a decision like that is driving our kids around… that’s concerning,” said one resident.
Another parent said her 3rd-grade daughter was dropped off just before the incident happened. She has decided her daughter will no longer be riding the bus. The parent said she reached out to the transportation department multiple times but has not been told if the driver has been suspended or even disciplined.
