A crash in Lawrence County, Arkansas, involving a Hoxie school bus, a dump truck, and several other vehicles sends nine people to the hospital.
According to reports, the multi-vehicle crash began when 31-year-old Houston Franks drove his dump truck into the rear end of a school bus as he exited the highway onto Lawrence County Road 703.
The collision caused the school bus, driven by 43-year-old Jeremy Parmer, to overturn in a man’s yard. Two children obtained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One was airlifted to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. The other was brought there later.
Five other children and both drivers were taken to a Jonesboro hospital with unspecified injuries. The children ranged in age from third-graders to tenth-graders.
