Woman Injured, Hospitalized in Crash with 18-wheeler

According to WHAG, a woman was injured in an accident after being hit by a tractor-trailer on the highway near Cumberland, Maryland, on Tuesday evening.

About the Trucking Accident

Officials say two people in a Mazda pickup truck were traveling east on Interstate 68 near the Rocky Gap State Park exit when the injury accident occurred. A semi-truck driving two lanes from the pickup truck all of a sudden lost control and jack-knifed.

WHAG reports that the pickup truck was struck by the semi in the passenger side. Claire Kremer, who was in the passenger seat of the pickup truck, was injured in the wreck. She was taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

James Hancock, the semi driver, was cited for negligent driving, according to WHAG. The interstate was closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene.
