Man Fleeing Police Sends Six People to Hospital in Five-car Wreck

According to The New York Daily News, a 20-year-old man fled the police after a traffic stop before causing a multiple-vehicle crash at an intersection in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday afternoon.

Details of the Injury Accident

Diego Williams, 20, fled a NYPD patrol vehicle at around 4:20 p.m. local time before the accident occurred. The police briefly called off the chase due to safety concerns.

Williams made his way to Albany Avenue and Farragut Road where he crashed his car into two vehicles, sending them into several parked vehicles and a school bus, reports The New York Daily News. Again the man tried to flee the scene, this time on foot, but officers were able to apprehend him.

Seven people were transported to Woodhull Hospital, reports The New York Daily News – one victim sustained serious injuries in the crash. Williams faces several charges, including fleeing a motor officer in a vehicle and at least five traffic violations. The crash occurred across the street from PS 198.
