Around November 6th, 2019, extrinsic dangerous materials, such as metals, were found to have been in contact with millions of chicken products. The discovery of this health risk was also publicly announced by Simmons Prepared Foods, a poultry farm producer based in Arkansas.
While the shipping of this contaminated poultry does not include consumer stores, several other institutions across the states have been reported in receiving these products. Some establishments affected include restaurants, schools, and even hospitals throughout areas such as Alabama, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.
The owner of Simmons Prepared Foods is working expeditiously through this voluntary recall to ensure food safety is preserved amongst the public. The USDA has also officially labeled all tainted chicken within institutions.
