1 Pedestrian Dead, 1 Injured After Car Runs Red Light at Mira Mesa Intersection

A woman was killed a man was hospitalized after a car ran a red light at a busy intersection in Mira Mesa early Thursday.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to FOX 5 San Diego, the victims, a 59-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man, were walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Marbury Avenue when they were struck by an eastbound Honda.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while the man suffered a broken femur and a serious head injury.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 6 am. The driver of the Honda, a 26-year-old man, remained at the scene.
