A motorcyclist was injured in an accident that happened in Decatur.
Details about the Motorcycle Accident
WAAYTV News is reporting that, at about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, the Decatur Police, Decatur Fire and Rescue, and Decatur First Response EMS all responded to the scene of an accident with injuries that happened along Beltline Road.
According to authorities, the accident involved two vehicles, a 2006 Suzuki GSXR750 and a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The driver of the motorcycle, Tyler Ray Gatlin was taken to the Huntsville Hospital via helicopter. The condition of the motorcycle driver is unknown at this time.
Both the driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were uninjured. A portion of Beltline Road near the intersection of Clarkview Street was closed to one lane while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the cause and circumstances of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
