A pedestrian is dead following a fatal trucking accident at an intersection in Tampa, Florida last Wednesday.
Information About the Accident
According to WTSP, the truck was on the east route on Hillsborough and had a green light but stopped in order to allow the pedestrian to cross.
The truck began to move again as the pedestrian reached the center median. The pedestrian then slipped off the curb and fell in the middle of the road where and was crushed by the truck’s rear tires.
The pedestrian was transported and then declared dead at Tampa General Hospital. Eastbound lanes are currently closed and westbound traffic is slow.
Commuters are being asked to avoid the area of the accident by Tampa Police.
The investigation is still ongoing; however, Tampa police believe there was no way for the truck driver to avoid the accident.
