According to WBALTV, a motorist was killed in a fiery chain-reaction crash involving dump trucks in Frederick, Maryland, on Wednesday morning.

About the Fatal Dump Truck Wreck

The dump truck accident occurred on Interstate 70 near the Interstate 270 and Route 15 interchange at approximately 9:00 a.m. local time. Two dump trucks and an SUV were stopped on Interstate 70 westbound to let a motorcade pass through. The SUV was then hit by a dump truck from behind, causing a chain-reaction collision between all four vehicles.

Two of the dump truck drivers were transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital, according to WBALTV. The third driver refused treatment. The Maryland State Police Crash Team investigated the crash scene for several hours, closing down westbound Interstate 70 lanes until around 4:15 p.m.
