Ford Recalls 88,000 Vehicles for Stalling Issue

vehicle recalls

Ford has issued a recall for 88,000 cars and SUVs sold in the United States after determining a fuel pump defect can causes engines to stall without warning.

Details of the Recall

According to FOX 6, the recall is related to faulty fuel pump control modules that can fail, even when the vehicles are in motion.

When a stall occurs, drivers are left without a means to restart the vehicles. If the vehicle is in operation at the time of the stall, drivers may be left without essential safety devices, including airbags, power brakes, and power steering.

Reports indicate that regular consumers are not the only ones affected by the recall. In fact, it is estimated that thousands of police vehicles are also included in the recall.

The recall currently covers the following vehicles:

  • 2013-2015 Ford Taurus vehicles equipped with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engines built at Chicago Assembly Plant between August 25, 2011 and May 31, 2015.
