Recently, a man received a prison sentence of 34 years for causing a crash that claimed the lives of an Oregon mother and four children back in October 2017. The man, Favian Garcia, accepted a plea deal owning responsibility for the deadly crash that occurred on Highway 99E north of Salem.
The killed mother, Lisette Medrano-Perez, 25, was driving into a corner on the highway when she collided nearly head-on with Garcia, who was driving an SUV.
The collision led to a fatal crash that killed Lisette, her children, and other children. As identified by the police, the children are Angelina Vazquez-Crisp, 2; Dayanara Medrano-Perez, 4; Andrus Medrano-Contreras, 6; Ricardo Medrano-Contreras, 8.
Court evidence depicts that Garcia had a high level of alcohol in his blood, which was four times more than the legal limit.
Nevertheless, Garcia denied drinking all day. Instead, he says he was “hungover.”
After the crash investigation, it was discovered that Garcia was indeed responsible of the accident.
