As of October 4th, 2019, fluidfreeride, a Miami-based Motorized Scooter company recalled about 1,800 of their Mercane WideWheel Electric Kick Scooters, citing break issues.
About the Motorized Scooter Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the break mechanism is known to fail, causing the rider to lose control resulting in varying levels of injury possible. 15 reports of brake failure have been received. Additionally, four reports of injuries including two bloody knees, lower back bruises, and a sprained ankle were reported. Purchasers are entitled to a free repair from fluidfreeride.

The product has been available for purchase at the company website, fluidfreeride.com, Amazon, and eBay since October 2018. They are usually priced between $1,000-$1,200.
