The crash occurred between Abilene and San Angelo when 22-year-old Taron Gipson was driving south on State Highway 158 and went off the road.
The preliminary crash report reveals that Gipson then turned back onto the road and crashed into 51-year-old Chengiu Huo’s vehicle, which was traveling north.
Gipson reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Huo and one passenger were also killed in the crash. Police stated that the other passenger, an Alamo Heights High School student, sustained serious injury and was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. According to officials, everyone in Huo’s vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash is currently still being investigated.
