San Antonio Teen Arrested in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Paulo Sergio Martinez Salazar, 17, arrested was early Friday morning after his mother turned him into police. The teenager is suspected of leaving the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in San Antonio on Thursday night.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Salazar faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid resulting in death, which is a second-degree felony.

The accident occurred in the 200 block of South Zarzamora Street in San Antonio, Texas. Salazar was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier when he allegedly hit a man who was crossing the street, police added that the man was not in a crosswalk. The crash occurred around 11:13 p.m.

Salazar left the scene of the accident without leaving his information or trying to help the injured pedestrian.

Only an hour after the accident, Salazar’s mother phoned police and identified the driver as her son.

Upon taking Salazar into custody at his home in the 1300 block of Ceralvo Street, police found the Cavalier in his driveway.
