According to MassLive, a Connecticut woman is facing several charges after causing an accident that claimed the life of a 46-year-old man.
Police arrested 34-year-old Katell Gunning after witnesses say she caused the fatal crash on Interstate 91 in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Police say the wreck occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. local time.
Gunning is being held in custody after being charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility, and operating with a suspended license.
According to MassLive, Gunning rear-ended a pickup truck, causing the driver to lose control. The pickup truck driver crashed into a guardrail and overturned his truck before crashing into trees off the highway.
Emergency crews say the man, 46-year-old Kevin Dutra, died at the scene of the crash. Gunning fled the scene of the accident but police later arrested her in a nearby Walmart parking lot.
The crash remains under investigation, and state police are asking witnesses for information regarding the fatal accident, reports MassLive.
