V. Aaron Contreras
V. Aaron Contreras is a highly disciplined attorney from San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Contreras received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Idaho College of Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Idaho State University.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Contreras served in the Idaho Army National Guard for 11 years as a Counterintelligence Agent and an AH64-A pilot. As an agent, Mr. Contreras underwent extensive training in surveillance, security, collections, report writing, and interrogation techniques. When he was later deployed to Afghanistan as an aviation officer, he completed over 100 combat missions with 500 hours logged. His position as platoon leader made him responsible for supervising, planning, and scheduling combat operations.
After his time in the army, Mr. Contreras began work as an attorney at an Idaho-based law office in 2010. There, he maintained a general practice of civil litigation, criminal defense, family law, and business law, meanwhile gaining extensive experience working with Federal Indian Law.
Returning to the army in 2019, Mr. Contreras began his role as Advocate General while stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His responsibilities included executing Theater Security Cooperation throughout the Western Hemisphere, facilitating mission accomplishment, and developing legal engagements with the armed forces of partner nations. He also advised counsels and prepares documents, letters, and memoranda for clients on a range of issues, both military and civilian in nature.
Joining Thomas J. Henry Law in 2019, Mr. Contreras currently serves as an intake manager, ensuring clients’ first interactions with an attorney are thorough and positive. When Mr. Contreras is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is also an animal lover, owning three dogs, a miniature pig, four chickens, and multiple fish.
