Christopher Cummings

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law's Austin Office

Though he has lived in Austin for more than six years, Mr. Christopher Cummings spent his formative years in Huntington, West Virginia where his father served as a county prosecutor and then a circuit court judge. Due to his background, Mr. Cummings often jokes that he “grew up in a courtroom.” Mr. Cummings’ father was a valuable teacher in his life, reminding Mr. Cummings to always view things objectively and that “there are six sides to every story.”

Mr. Cummings received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Marshall University and played as starting pitcher for the university’s baseball team. He also holds  Doctor of Jurisprudence at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Cummings ultimately completed his law school education as an extern and worked as a prosecutor for the Kings County Districts Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York handling felony trials.

After New York, Mr. Cummings returned to his home state of West Virginia to work with a personal injury firm where he helped secure settlements of auto accident claims and assisted in the preparation of mass tort claims. He then moved Texas to open his own practice concentrating on personal injury claims and Civil Rights litigation. During this time, Mr. Cummings successfully negotiated a 42 USC 1983 claim that resulted in one of the largest non-death taser settlements in 2016.

Mr. Cummings believes earning a client’s trust and confidence is paramount to successful representation, and he wants his clients to feel happy that they have him in their corner. He is goal-oriented and keeps his focus on the big picture – achieving the best possible outcome for his clients – throughout the litigation process.

Beyond his work as an attorney, Mr. Cummings is married to his wife of five years, whom he met in law school. Together, they are expecting their first child and enjoy spending time with their French bulldog, Georgie. He maintains a great love of baseball, is an avid runner, and likes to attend concerts with is wife, holding an appreciation for all music.

See what our clients have to say about their experience working with their legal team in Austin:

These guys just get the job done. Would recommend to all my friends and family in Austin and have already referred my two aunts in El Paso to work with these guys. Keep up the good work! — Laura Flores

They were so supportive and always called me and answered all my questions. I never felt like I was ignored or bothered them. Felt great to have them help me through this process — Susie Alvarez

I was rear-ended by an attorney of all people! The guy that hit me was a lousy human being as I was stopped and he drove right into me…..and he was texting, admitted it and then did everything he could to avoid paying the damages…..including the two herniated discs in my back that have caused me great pain. Thomas J Henry and his staff won my case ($500,000) without us going to court. His team was professional and very sympathetic to my pain and assisted greatly throughout the process. Everything you see in his TV commercials is the real deal! If you need an attorney, don’t hesitate. He’s the best there is. Robert W. — Bob Wills

I was going to have to wait a week to get into a neurosurgeon and another week to get an MRI. With TJH assistance I was in to see a dr in a few days and the same with my MRI. When you’re in pain, time matters. — Peggy Rosch

This law form was polite responsive and very helpful they took the time and were very patient they keep me informed of the status and what steps they are taking during and or on my case they are awesome — Jon Buford
