Kanon Bernard Lillemon

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law's San Antonio Office

Mr. Kanon Bernard Lillemon received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from SMU Dedman School of Law and also holds a Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University, a Master of the Arts from University of the Incarnate Word, and a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University. She is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Sothern and Western Districts of Texas.

Mr. Lillemon’s first real experience with legal casework was during law school in 2000 with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Lillemon served as an intern with the office of family violence during which time he interviewed victims and witnesses to crimes involving domestic and family violence. Once acquiring his Texas Bar admission, he began working as a prosecutor with the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office, then the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, and finally the 38th Judicial District Attorney’s Office which oversees Medina, Real, and Uvalde Counties.

As a prosecutor with the offices, Mr. Lillemon was tasked with handling various stages of criminal cases, including intake, case management, negotiations, and plea agreements, in all levels of criminal cases from traffic-related class C offenses all the way to capital murder, the highest level of offense. He most recently served as the Family Violence lead prosecutor with his office receiving grant funding for the position for ten years through the federal Violence Against Women Act. As a lead prosecutor, Mr. Lillemon worked closely with victims and interviewed witnesses, police, and other forensic professionals on a regular basis.

Mr. Lillemon understands the integral role attorneys and lawyers play in our society and sees the profession as an opportunity to serve the public and do good for the people in his community. In addition to this career in criminal law, Mr. Lillemon has also worked in civil litigation, has handled matters pertaining to construction contracts and defects, and is a member of the State Bar College. He decided to join Thomas J. Henry Law San Antonio office in 2021 and currently focuses his practice on the representation of clients injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, workplace accidents, and premises liability accidents.

In addition to his work as an attorney, Mr. Lillemon previously worked as a Technical Trainer for Dell Computers, training new hires on how best to provide technical customer service, and served as a substitute teacher for 6-12 grades in Birdville ISD. He also had the privilege of teaching online criminal law and criminal procedure courses at Our Lady of the Lake University where his wife serves as chair of the Criminal Justice Program. Mr. Lillemon contributed to an entry his wife published on the topic of Arraignment in The Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice (2014) and together they presented at the 2019 Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
