Mr. Marc A. Cavazos earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and also holds a Master of Arts from University of Colorado Colorado Springs as well as a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

While attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Mr. Cavazos participated in Trademark and Business Law Clinics. He also worked as a Certified Law Clerk for the Office of the San Diego Alternate Public Defender and clerked with a San Diego-based law firm focusing on Cannabis Law. Mr. Cavazos also volunteered with San Diego NORML.

Mr. Cavazos assisted in drafting a cannabis ordinance for a local municipality and drafted complaints against government entities for unlawful seizure of hemp, conducted legal research of California cannabis laws and ordinances, and assisted combat veterans suffering from PTSD gain access to medicinal cannabis as an alternative to prescription drugs.

Both of Mr. Cavazos’s parents work in healthcare and instilled in him from an early age a desire to help others through charity and kindness. Mr. Cavazos found that becoming an attorney would allow him to serve and help others as they face difficulties. Mr. Cavazos is thankful to his parents for supporting him and his siblings as they pursued their dreams. His parents successfully raised one doctor (Mr. Cavazos’s brother and two attorneys (Mr. Cavazos and his sister).

Mr. Cavazos is a U.S. Army veteran and served in Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013. As a member of the Company Intelligence Support Team, Mr. Cavazos oversaw the gathering of battlefield intelligence and reported the information to his commanders.

Mr. Cavazos enjoys outdoor sports, including snowboarding and hiking. When able, Mr. Cavazos also enjoys working on his father’s ranch in Uvalde. He is happily married to Kimberly Cavazos.
